Way back, once upon a time, I used to be a die hard cricket fan.

I used to get up at 2 AM to watch every ball of India vs West Indies. I used to note down every ball of every over in a diary and then watch the highlights as well!

I used to steal money from dad’s purse and buy atleast 5 cricket magazines. I would paste the posters all around my room and changed them frequently.

But now, I won’t do that. I would not watch IPL 6.

Reasons:

1) Sachin Tendulkar playing under Ricky Ponting? Are you kidding me? I can’t even imagine such a scenario, forget about watching!

2) Reliable sources have informed me that matches would be predictable. Results are known to several people with few crores to gamble. Dirty.

3) I anyhow watch most of the players in the advertisements all around. And to again watch them in shiny clothes doesn’t inspire me much.

4) Multi crore bucks have been invested in these players. Oh sorry, they have been bought. In a auction. When they will play, money would be the only ambition and motivation and inspiration to perform well. Be it Australia or West Indies, its all the same! Brothers in Arm.

5) That advertisement which will hit you in between, they are priced Rs 4.5 Lakh per 10 seconds. My fingers would tremble while changing the channels during a break!

Where would be the rivalry? The passion.. the fight? I just don’t get it.. IPL for me is a reality show, live on TV.

Sports, was something else..

In case my resistance fails, and I do end up watching, I will surely update this page. But for time being, I won’t!

In the year 2010, I started my Online Marketing journey, after leaving behind a cushy and well-paid job of SAP ABAP Consultant.

The best thing about that SAP job was that the society loved it. But my heart ached.

I was a Writer, and I pretty well damn knew by that time. My greatest joy and satisfaction came when I wrote things on paper and MS Word. The job was a security which I had myself chosen but my heart and my soul craved for writing. Little did I knew that a Writer had so many options in 2010!

One fine day, I quit my job and took freelance writing as full time occupation.

Things happened in between, and I learnt SEO along the way. I came across various businesses which were active in Online Marketing and I did social media as well. Somehow, I realized that Social Media is a very important ingredient of the whole Online Marketing game, and that SEO is a very useful thing to know for a writer and a businessman and everyone who is dreaming of making it big.

Then, in the year 2013, two things happened: I created WordsWithMagic and I became the Social Media Activist at Go4Hosting.

Go4Hosting is a Tier 3 Data Center located in Noida and Jaipur, and I am currently working as Social Media Activist in the organization, managing each and every aspect of Social Media for the organization.

We are 500+ employee company, having more than 10,000 customers all over the world. And it is quite a challenging work!

The best thing about these last three years is that, I have lived each and every moment of this transformation from a secured job to a job which I absolutely love.

I am a firm believer of Inbound Marketing, and use this to generate more and more Social Media related activities for the company.

Entrepreneurship is my final goal, and I am working full time to materialize it.

Lets see what happens next!

The night Mark Zuckerberg decided to launch a website to avenge his ex girl friend; he posted the following posts in his Livejournal account:

“I’m a little intoxicated, not gonna lie. So what if it’s not even 10 pm and it’s a Tuesday night? What?

Quick words first: The movie is for three types of audience:

a) A person who loves to see blood and gory action sequence on-screen.

b) A person who still loves 90s style movie telling with lots of family drama

c) A person who is a big fan of Sanjay Dutt

If you can categorize yourself within these three personalities, then believe me, every single penny spent on the movie would be worth it. And of you aren’t such person, then the movie would be a huge disappointment.

The plot is fairly simplistic. I must admit here that I haven’t watched the original Agneepath, thus, can’t comment on the older version or the adaptability ratio. Moreover, I never compare the older versions of any remake movie. It gives me fresh insights and fresh perspective to comment on the movie.

Sanjay Dutt kills Hritik Roshan’s father, and the whole movie is a vengeance saga.

Most probably this is Hritik’s most action oriented movie till date, and he has been captured in every frame. But, I would dedicate this movie to Sanjay Dutt. He has delivered a stunning performance of being the baddie. Interjected with Gita rhymes, and powered with tattoos all around, Sanjay Dutt captures the screen every time he is being presented. The audience whistled and shouted for every dialogue which he delivers, even though he is the villain. Such is the actor’s acting prowess.

And another ‘acting’ hero of the movie is Rishi Kapoor. He has a menacing and devilish role, which required the actor to act really menacing and devil. And boy, what a performance. Rishi Kapoor fires up the screen with his raunchy dialogue delivery and killer acting.

Our hero, Vijay Dinanath Chauhan finally kills the villain, Kancha, and takes his revenge.

Priyanka Chopra, who is the love interest of Hritik in the movie dons an average performance. Moreover, her role was just of a supporting actor rather which was far from main stream.

The movie lacks in editing, I guess. Lots of family drama unfolds in between, which could have been done away with. The audience become impatient while such sequence was running, and this can be a negative point. Oh yes, Chikni Chameli does helped to make them patient. Katrina Kaif’s item song was applauded!

Overall, Karan Johar tried too hard. But, an honest work, which will earn money in the box-office. I highly doubt whether it will acquire the cult status or become a huge bumper hit.

Shall keep you updated!

Disclaimer: Except me, every character in this blog post is imaginary. It holds no resemblance, what so ever, with any person- living or dead. And the story is a figment of imagination, nothing else. In case the characters or the story does resemble, then take my word for it; it is purely co-incidence. This is a shortened version of a sub-plot from a movie script which I am attempting to finish. This has been exclusively written for the Fiery Tongue & Sharp Mind Contest sponsored by KFC at IndiBlogger.in. And I hope that the judges like it.

~ The story ends here ~

“And your time starts now.”

Sweat beads shone on my forehead. I was grasping for air, and my tongue struggled for words. My heart rate was surely racing away. It was about to fall away from my mouth.

I am sure that no other person in the room would have noticed that I was feeling miserable, but I felt the heat. Every preparation and revision which I ever did, failed me at the most important moment of my life. I cursed myself. I wanted to run away and jump in the river. No, ocean. I never wished to see my face again. Maybe I should go for plastic surgery. Gosh! My mind was playing games at this crucial juncture. I was slowly losing it, and somewhere down the line, I knew that this is my last chance. Slowly but gradually, the moments drifted along. I shivered and my spine became straight. Our eyes met for a fraction of a second, and my heart screamed out.

“Common Mohul. You can do better!”

And suddenly the door bell rang, and few random images flashed through my mind.

Inspiration:

I had heard about Mr Vikram Oberoi around three years back, when I was working on an assignment related to Entrepreneurship. And from that minute, I was hooked on to his life. I read several articles and posts about him in the last 3 years of my professional career. To be precise, 1,769 which include articles, stories, blogs, news, interviews, forums and newspaper cuttings. They all were carefully preserved in my attic, in the form of A4 size printout and photocopies. The whole collection was dutifully dusted and revised every weekend. I knew his whole family background, his relationship status and his current balance sheet by heart. Heck, I even knew which company’s share he presently held. By the ways, Mr Vikram Oberoi was ‘The’ serial entrepreneur and one of the star investors in the Indian business horizon. He mainly created companies, and then sold them off for profit. Last year, he created a fortune of $150 million, by selling the hottest dating website in Indonesia. After this eye popping deal, his total worth increased by mere 3%. He was big. And he was ruthless in making business decisions. His competitors feared him and thus, respected him. I was in awe of this person, and wanted desperately to meet him once, and share my side of the story. Today, he is going to celebrate his 65th birthday, and only three persons in the world knew this fact. Mr. Vikram Oberoi’s driver was the third person.

Desperation:

It was exactly 5 months back that I ever worked as a salaried employee.

After working in the corporate sector for the last 3 years, every imaginable corner of my heart ached out, “Leave the freaking job”. I was strongly convinced that my ‘precious’ time is being wasted in someone else’s office. In most of the times, during day and during night, my mind repeatedly resonated the fact that for few thousand INR, I shouldn’t hand over my freedom to someone else. My body couldn’t bear any longer, and the emotional dam broke down at the dawn of a March morning. It was the real Ides of March for me. It was pretty dramatic the way I quitted the job. Went in straight to the boss, and hugged him tight. He was shocked.. He pushed me away, and shouted, “What the hell???”

I turned away, and ran away to the exit. Later in the day, he must have read my resignation SMS which I had sent him earlier.

And after 5 months of quitting my job, I was shattered. Most of my savings consumed, on high debt, and still undecided what to actually do. I had lied to my parents all this while, and had basically done nothing. All this time, all I did was make plan and diagrams and charts. Action was most probably missing. Often, a whisper from deep down suggested me that I left the job in haste. I was confused, and in doubt. I was afraid as well. Or maybe I was afraid of the failure, as Seth Godin famously pointed out. I took the last gamble of my luck, and gave that old driver Rs 5,000, and took the address. According to that driver, Mr Vikram Oberoi is going to spend his birthday alone, in Hotel Leela Palace, which is the most expensive hotel in the whole NCR. Bloody Lie. I told myself, as I took the address from him and gave him Rs 5,000. If this one fails, I will join a job and well, torture myself again for undecided amount of time.

And, The Meeting:

I bought the largest available bouquet and reached the hotel. The room number was mentioned in my ‘bought’ chit of paper. I slowly crossed the corridor, walking on the velvet carpet and rehearsed the lines which I would blurt out, the moment he sees me. I was not tensed, but just excited. I knocked twice on the door.

“Who is there?”

“Your birthday gift, sir”

The door opened after 10 seconds. And I saw him, for the first time, face to face.

“I am unemployed, and wish to start a business venture with your blessing. Your ex driver gave me this address, and I didn’t believe him a bit. Yes, I paid bribe to meet you, because I really wanted to meet you. I am sorry if I disturbed you… “

He cut me short.

“Shut the ****up. You want money, so you ruined my birthday evening. I can call the cops and get you arrested, you bastard. “

I stammered, “I am really sorry sir.. I am afraid I had no other option left. I have read every article and blog about you and I really admire you contribution to the world of ….” He again cut me short.

“Anyone with Google.com can know everything about me. Tell me fast, and leave me alone. What is your logic?”

Err… logic? I never expected this as a question. I had prepared the questions regarding my new business idea for starting a new company, and I was expecting to answer that.

“I didn’t get it, sir.” It was officially the first blooper of the day.

“Why the hell should I invest money on you?”, he growled.

“Well sir, my calculations are purely based on the existing market data, and I believe that we can double our ROI in 6 months. All that I need is…” He once again cut me short.

“Listen chap. One thousand and one persons like you come daily to my office with brilliant ideas like yours. They all assume that I like the idea and invest on it. No! I like the person, and invest on the person.. And you..”

He himself cut that short, and asked me to sit down on the couch. He lighted his cigar, and took the glass of scotch which he was having prior to my sudden appearance. I placed the bouquet on the small glass table, and wished him a happy birthday.

“I really liked the way you made your appearance here. You are desperate for success. Nice one.”

I blushed and was about to say a warm thanks, when it happened. The bomb was hurled across me, without any warning. He was certainly ruthless.

“Can you sell this old computer to me, in less than 30 seconds?” He pointed towards an old computer, which was lying in a distant corner of the room. I wondered what an old computer is doing at Leela Palace.

“And your time starts now.”

I felt the heat. All preparations and revisions seemed like wastage of time. But, how can I sell an old computer to a millionaire? Oh my god. Time has already started. And then the door bell rang.

It gave me some moments of respite, and I regained my posture. While Mr Vikram Oberoi was telling the waiter that he does not need dinner, my mind was racing against time to find out a way to sell that damn computer. I could have heard my heart beats now.

He sat across me on the couch, and looked directly into my eyes.

“Sell it now, and get my blessing. Or else, bug off.”

“Sir, have you heard about Microsoft Windows, the largest selling Operating system ever invented on Earth? Over 500 million of them have been sold till now.”

“Yes.. Carry on” came back the reply.

“Bill Gates had written the codes of this great Operating system, on this very computer which you are seeing it across the room. If you buy it within 5 minutes, you can get it for $10,000. After these 5 minutes, you won’t be able to afford it.”

I was able to sell that old computer to Mr Vikram Oberoi. And the story starts from here..!

Thanks a lot to Mahindra & Mahindra,

for the goof-up.

The classic ‘technical error’ which prompted me to visit the Auto Expo – 2012 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The story so far: I received an email from Mahindra, which suggested me to play the contest to win a free pass for the Auto Expo. I opened that link, and filled the details.

After exactly 12 hours, I received this image in my email:

The Winnner

I was super excited. I told everyone in my office and in my home, that I have won!

On Saturday, January 07, 2012, I visited the Mahindra & Mahindra office and collected the Free Paas, and visited the expo. I clicked few pics, which I am going to share below.

Awesome experience, and beautiful cars. Damn it my camera’s battery which exhausted right in the middle of the show. Thus, the pictures only tell the half story.

Got up next morning, that is Sunday, January 08, 2012, and this email amuses me:

The Royal Goof-up, which was my pleasure!

So, here are the exclusive pics from the Auto-Expo 2012 @ New Delhi!

While I was searching for my seat in the multiplex, I found a kid super excited, wide-eyed staring at the screen. He was 14 old lad, who had come with his family to watch this new movie. I asked him what made you come in the first day of the release?

“Shahrukh!” was the answer.

Ra1 debacle has created way too less dent, as commonly believed. Shahrukh knows the best when it comes to fan following-ship. And he has nailed this one.

In a brand new avatar which will make pony-tails as main stream fashion (which I have unsuccessfully tried since last year, with my pony tail :p), Shahrukh is just, Shahrukh in this movie – stylish, ruthless and a bad man.

Armed with his swanky one liners, “Kinky…..”, as he blasts them every time he is surrounded by his enemies or the police, Shahrukh does everything which he ever wanted to do on screen. Oh well, he has even smoked in this movie! Fashionable long coats, flouting Gucci belts and long hairs with sharp witty dialogues; Don 2 has been programmed to entertain.

Shot across Thailand, Malaysia, Zurich and then Berlin, Don 2 leaves no stone unturned to produce that flashy sensation while watching the movie.

And Farhan Akhtar.. the director is the man.

Almost every shot of the movie has Shahrukh Khan in it, and I was able to feel the angle which Farhan tried to show us by zooming in this mega super star with sounds blazing, Don Don Don…

The plot and the screenplay is a tribute to The Italian Job and Ocean’s 11 genres of movies, with meticulous planning and recruitment of resources to achieve that impossible plan is executed by the Don. The movie could have been shorter at the end, as the climax is stretched to accumulate more Shahrukh.. and more Sharukh..

I watched this movie because Farhan had directed it. And my admiration for him has just increased..

If you are a Sharukh Khan fan, then avoid this movie at your own peril!

Yup. A million dollars, which is the amount I have figured out, would be the cost of the brand name: mohulghosh.com in future.

Distant future..

And I was about to loose it.. Very marginally, I made it and saved it, along with a million dollars.

And all thanks to The Pirate from Bombay. It was the active and timely tweet from this pirate which literally saved my ass.

The story:

mohulghosh.com was officially bought as on October 13, 2010. After being bought, it wasn’t much used till April, 2011, when it was finally launched. Having garnered close to 50 comments and around a thousand views per week, mohulghosh.com lay low for few months. There were other official responsibilities along with some personal ones which played havoc on this humble site’s posting capabilities. Life just moved on.

Out of blues, a sudden tweet from Aditya aka The Pirate from Mumbai, woke me up.

Frenzy. My knees were shacking.. as I hit the reply button and asked him forgiveness.

I contacted the domain provider, and asked the details. They informed me that the domain had expired, and well, I didn’t respond to their repeated emails. God forbid, I have never received a mail from them, I told. They relented, and finally gave the domain back after I paid up the renewal charges.

Woof. A relief. Such silly mistakes and carelessness could have really cost me my own domain name as well as a million dollars.

Thanks again, Aditya aka The Bombay Pirate!

So, lets rock the show. If you are still reading it right now, then I want to promise that mohulghosh.com would be now more active. And more vibrant.

And a very big news awaits all…

Follow me on Twitter at _mohul or be my friend on facebook at Facebook.com/mohulghosh.. and shower me your love at http://mohulghosh.com/why-should-you-love-me/ !
